Rule 27-3323 - MANUFACTURING AND PRODUCTION ENGINEERING COSTS3323.1Costs incident to the following activities related to manufacturing and production engineering shall be allowable if required or approved under the contract:
(a) Developing and deploying new or improved materials, systems, processes, methods, equipment, tools, and techniques that are or are expected to be used in producing products or services;(b) Developing and deploying pilot production lines;(c) Improving current production functions such as plant layout, production scheduling and control, methods and job analysis, equipment capabilities and capacities, inspection techniques, and tooling analysis, including tooling design and application improvements; and(d) Material and manufacturing productibility analysis for production suitability and the optimization of manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques.D.C.
