The requirements of this section shall apply to persons with expired registration who seek reinstatement within five (5) years in accordance with § 512(a) of the Act, D.C. Official Code § 3-1205.12(a).
A person may not apply for reinstatement if his or her registration has expired for more than five (5) years.
A reinstatement applicant may be eligible for reinstatement of his or her registration only if he or she holds a current, active certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) issued by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) and submit satisfactory proof of ten (10) contact hours in clinical coursework in an approved continuing competence program for each year that the applicant was not registered, up to a maximum of fifty (50) hours. Twenty (20) of those contact hours shall have been completed within two (2) years prior to the date the application is submitted and shall include two (2) hours of LGBTQ continuing education.
