Section 7-323l-11a - Hazardous materials awareness level personnel, hazardous materials operations level responder, hazardous materials technician and hazardous materials incident commander(a)General(1) A candidate for hazardous materials awareness level personnel, hazardous materials operations level responder, hazardous materials technician or hazardous materials incident commander certification shall comply with standards relating to the use of self-contained breathing apparatus described in 29 CFR 1910.134.(2) No person shall be certified to the level of hazardous materials awareness level personnel, hazardous materials operations level responder, hazardous materials technician or hazardous materials incident commander until all examination requirements of this standard for those levels have been fulfilled.(b)Objectives: The candidate for certification to the level of hazardous materials awareness level personnel, hazardous materials operations level responder, hazardous materials technician or hazardous materials incident commander shall comply with the performance objectives of NFPA 1072, Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents.(c) The commission shall certify as a hazardous materials awareness level personnel, hazardous materials operations level responder, hazardous materials technician or hazardous materials incident commander those candidates who have satisfactorily demonstrated the ability to meet the requirements as prescribed in this section.Conn.
