In order to ensure that employees or other persons regularly providing client or support services, including foster/pre-adoptive parents, in any program or facility of the Department or in vendor agency programs funded by the Department are appropriate for serving in their positions with potential for unsupervised contact, a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check shall be performed on candidates for positions in such programs or facilities, as provided in 110 CMR 18.00. It is the policy of EOHHS and the Department that convictions of certain crimes pose an unacceptable risk to the vulnerable populations served by the Department and its vendor agencies. 110 CMR 18.00 sets forth minimum standards.
