Section 170.373 - EMT Use of Patient Restraints(A) EMTs may restrain a patient who presents an immediate or serious threat of bodily harm to himself or others, in accordance with administrative requirements or protocols of the Department.(B)Documentation. EMTs shall thoroughly document all uses of restraints on their patient care report, and at a minimum include the following: reason for restraint use, time of application, types of restraints used, patient position, number of EMS personnel and first responders used to restrain the patient, and issues encountered during transport.Adopted, Mass Register Issue 1257, eff. 3/28/2014.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1486, eff. 1/6/2023.
