Section 158.044 - Infection Control(A) A Program shall establish and maintain infection control practices designed to prevent the development and transmission of disease and infection.(B) A Program shall prohibit employees with a communicable disease or infected skin lesion from direct contact with participants or participants' food, if direct contact will transmit the disease.(C) A Program shall require staff to wash their hands after each direct participant contact for which handwashing is indicated by accepted professional practice.(D) Personnel shall handle, store, process, and transport linens so as to prevent the spread of infection.(E) All accumulated soiled dressings that meet the definition of infectious waste shall be handled in accordance with 105 CMR 480.000: State Sanitary Code, Chapter VIII.Adopted by Mass Register Issue 1277, eff. 1/2/2015.
