Section 145.290 - Infection Control(A) The unit shall have and must follow written policies and procedures approved by the medical director and nurse manager for infection control within the unit.(B) Such policies and procedures shall include, but need not be limited to the following: (1) Standards and procedures for housekeeping and sanitation;(2) Standards and procedures for aseptic techniques to be used;(3) Procedures for surveillance, reporting, evaluating, and keeping records of infections among patients and personnel, with particular emphasis on sub-clinical hepatitis;(4) A definition of hepatitis infection for the purpose of such surveillance, and specific indications of the need for and procedures to be used in isolation; and(5) A policy pertaining to eating and drinking in the dialysis area or areas.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1379, eff. 11/30/2018.
