Section 140.701 - Physician's Direction and Plan of Care(A) Each clinic providing physical rehabilitation services shall retain, at least on a consulting basis, one physician to, at a minimum, assist in establishing and implementing patient care policies and to provide medical consultation as needed.(B) A clinic shall accept a patient for rehabilitation services only on the order of a clinic physician or referring physician who indicates the diagnosis and anticipated goals, and who is responsible for the general medical direction of such services as part of the total care of the patient.(C) For each patient there shall be written plan of care approved by the physician. The plan of care must specify the type, amount, frequency and duration of the services to be provided. The plan of care and results of treatment shall be reviewed by the physician at least every 60 days or more often if required.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1267, eff. 8/15/2014.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1443, eff. 5/14/2021.
