Section 120.553 - Safety InstructionIn addition to the requirements of 105 CMR 120.753:
(A) A licensee shall provide radiation safety instruction, initially and at least annually, to personnel caring for patients or human research subjects who have received therapy with with a radioactive drug, and cannot be released in accordance with 105 CMR 120.540. To satisfy the requirement in 105 CMR 120.553(A), the instruction must be commensurate with the duties of the personnel and include: (1) Patient or human research subject control;(2) Visitor control to include the following:(a) Routine visitation to hospitalized individuals in accordance with 105 CMR 120.221(A)(1) and (C);(b) Contamination control;(d) Notification of the RSO, or his or her designee, and the authorized user if the patient or the human research subject has a medical emergency or dies.(B) A licensee shall retain a record of individuals receiving instruction in accordance with 105 CMR 120.590(P).Amended by Mass Register Issue 1480, eff. 10/14/2022.
