Section 120.249 - Minimization of Contamination(A) Applicants for licenses, after July 1, 1999, shall describe in the application how facility design and procedures for operation will minimize, to the extent practicable, contamination of the facility and the environment, facilitate eventual decommissioning, and minimize, to the extent practicable, the generation of radioactive waste.(B) Licensees shall, to the extent practical, conduct operations to minimize the introduction of residual radioactivity into the site, including the subsurface, in accordance with the existing radiation protection requirements in 105 CMR 120.210 and radiological criteria for license termination in 105 CMR 120.244 through 120.249.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1373, eff. 9/7/2018.
