Section 932.01 - Health Policy and Authority(1) Written policy and procedure shall provide for the delivery of health care services, including medical, dental and mental health services, under the control of a designated health authority. The health authority may be a physician, health administrator, or health agency whose responsibility is pursuant to a written agreement, contract, or job description. When the authority is other than a physician, the final medical judgement shall rest solely on a physician licensed by the Commonwealth.(2) If a health care specialist is required, such arrangements shall be made in advance of any need, whenever possible.(3) The county correctional facility shall require that the health authority meet with the Sheriff/facility administrator or designee at least quarterly and submit the following: (a) quarterly reports on the health care delivery system and health environment; and(b) annual statistical summaries.(4) The county correctional facility shall maintain a manual of health care policies and procedures specifically developed for the facility and approved by the health authority.
