Section 505.20 - Death and Serious Bodily Injury(1) Whenever a use of force results in serious bodily injury or the death of an inmate, the Superintendent or Division Head shall immediately notify the Chief of the Office of Investigative Services and the Commissioner by the fastest means available. The Chief of the Office of Investigative Services or designee shall notify the applicable District Attorney's Office by the fastest means available.(2) Whenever a use of force results in a serious bodily injury or death, the Use of Force package shall be submitted to the Joint Triage Committee (JTC) for review to determine whether the Use of Force should be Cleared, Closed, and Filed, or referred to as "Reasonable with Further Action", or referred to the Professional Standards Unit for a full investigation.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1486, eff. 1/6/2023.
