Section 80472 - Completion of Approved Program or Its EquivalentIn addition to any other requirements specified for obtaining any credential, an applicant for a credential shall fulfill one of the following requirements:
(a) A California college or university offering a Commission-approved program of professional preparation as a requirement for the credential shall certify that the applicant has completed its approved program and shall recommend the applicant for the appropriate credential; or(b) An applicant whose professional preparation for a multiple or single subject teaching credential was completed in a state with which California has a reciprocity agreement signed pursuant to Section 12509 of the Education Code, shall receive a preliminary credential, and shall be required to complete all requirements specified in Section 80413(b), for renewal of the preliminary credential.Cal.
