Section 11253 - Review of Applications and Nominations by the Selection Committees(a) Before nominating any candidate, the selection committee shall review the applicant's personnel information relating to his or her teaching experience and performance.(b) The selection committee may nominate for mentor teacher classification any applicant who meets the qualifications of Section 11252, provided the committee determines upon review of all the information before it that the applicant has demonstrated exemplary teaching ability including, but not limited to, effective communication skills, subject matter knowledge, and mastery of a range of teaching strategies necessary to meet the needs of pupils in different contexts.(c) Each nominee shall receive the vote of at least one more than half the members of the selection committee.(d) The governing board may determine a date by which nominations must be made in order to allow a reasonable time prior to the commencement of the succeeding fiscal year for the governing board to review nominations.Cal.
