Section 70489 - Intensive Care Newborn Nursery Service Space(a) Sufficient floor area shall be provided so that there is at least 7.2 square meters (80 square feet) per bassinet.(b) A work room or control station shall be maintained which shall provide for handwashing, gowning and charting.(c) There shall be 100 foot candles of light at each bassinet.(d) A waiting room shall be maintained adjacent to the intensive care newborn nursery.(e) A treatment area with temperature control.(f) Bassinets in the intensive care newborn nursery shall be included in the total licensed bed capacity of the hospital.Cal.
