Section 221.08 - Cancellation of the Certificate of Self-Insurance(a) Cancellation of a Certificate of Self-Insurance [DMV 131 MCP (NEW 4/98)], which is hereby incorporated by reference, and self insurance status may be initiated by the department for the following:(1) Failure to maintain the requirements for obtaining a certificate pursuant to Section 221.020 of Title 13, Division 1, Chapter 1 of the California Code of Regulations.(2) Failure to submit data in ten (10) days that is requested by the department to investigate and determine ongoing eligibility.(3) Failure to provide adequate financial responsibility or greater financial responsibility that may be required in the future as a result of a change in statute.(b) The department retains the authority to cancel the Certificate of Self-Insurance and self insurance status if the motor carrier fails to provide adequate financial responsibility as required in Vehicle Code section 34630.Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 13, § 221.08
