Section 2 AAC 08.095 - Use of leave without pay(a) Leave without pay may be required in connection with employee discipline.(b) Leave without pay may be taken by an employee as part of the eighteen-workweek family leave after the personal leave balance is reduced to five days. An employee may choose whether to retain or exhaust the five-day balance before taking the remaining family leave as leave without pay.(c) Leave without pay may be taken during the period an employee is unable to work; use of personal leave shall be treated as leave without pay to the extent of wage continuation payments made under the Workers' Compensation Act.(d) The principal executive officer of a department or agency may authorize leave without pay at the request of an employee for a period of up to 12 months.
