ERIK WAYNE ZAMORA, APPELLANT v. SHANNON LEE DODSON, APPELLEE

On Appeal from the 22nd District Court Comal County, Texas Trial Court No. C2023-1358A, Honorable Tracie Wright-Reneau, Presiding

Originally appealed to the Third Court of Appeals, this appeal was transferred to this Court by the Texas Supreme Court pursuant to its docket equalization efforts. See TEX. GOV'T CODE ANN. § 73.001.

Before QUINN, C.J., and PARKER and DOSS, JJ.

ORDER OF ABATEMENT

PER CURIAM

Appellant, Erick Wayne Zamora, appeals from the trial court's Final Decree of Divorce. Now pending before this Court is Zamora's unopposed motion to abate the appeal so the parties may engage in settlement negotiations.

To expedite the disposition of this appeal and in the interest of conservation of judicial resources, we grant the motion. Accordingly, all appellate proceedings are stayed, including Zamora's pending briefing deadline, until further order of the Court. See TEX. R. APP. P. 42.1(a)(2)(C). The parties are directed to file a status report of their settlement negotiations with the Clerk of this Court within sixty days of this order. Should the parties reach a settlement agreement within sixty days and seek to dismiss this appeal, Zamora shall file a motion to dismiss in compliance with Rule of Appellate Procedure 42.1(a) and (d).

It is so ordered.
