Karla Wooten, Petitioner, v. Mark S. Inch, Secretary, Florida Department of Corrections, et al., Respondents.

Karla Wooten, pro se, Petitioner. Ashley Moody, Attorney General, Tallahassee; Lance Eric Neff, General Counsel, Department of Corrections, Tallahassee, for Respondents.

Not final until disposition of any timely and authorized motion under Fla. R. App. P. 9.330 or 9.331.

Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus-Original Jurisdiction.

Karla Wooten, pro se, Petitioner.

Ashley Moody, Attorney General, Tallahassee; Lance Eric Neff, General Counsel, Department of Corrections, Tallahassee, for Respondents.

PER CURIAM

Karla Wooten petitions this Court for a writ of habeas corpus, asserting that she is being illegally detained at a prison in Wyoming. Because Wooten is in custody outside this Court's territorial jurisdiction, we lack authority to issue the extraordinary writ. See Art. V, §4(b)(3); Alachua Reg'l Juv. Det. Ctr. v. T.O., 684 So.2d 814, 816 (Fla. 1996) ("[A] district court of appeal does not have the constitutional power to issue a writ directed to a person outside the district court's territorial jurisdiction."). Thus, we dismiss Wooten's petition.

ROWE, C.J., and ROBERTS and JAY, JJ., concur.
