MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS, § 375 — policemen's and firemen's minimum compensation. In a mandamus proceeding by policemen and firemen against a city and its officers to compel payment of the difference between wages received over a period and the amounts which the Policemen's and Firemen's Minimum Wage Acts directed to be paid, defendants were required to obey the mandatory provisions of the acts, and a mandamus order requiring respondents to perform all acts necessary for payment of the differences was affirmed (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1937, ch. 24, pars. 860a, et seq.; Ill. Rev. Stat. 1941, ch. 24, pars. 11-1 et seq.; Jones Ill. Stats. Ann. 21.1358 et seq.).
