INSURANCE, § 389payment and discharge of liability on duplicate certificate. Where the insured in a certificate of insurance issued under a group policy named his then wife as beneficiary and after his divorce from her he applied to the company for a duplicate policy which was issued with another named as beneficiary therein, its issuance resulted in the extinguishment of the original certificate and the change of beneficiary.

Appeal from Circuit Court of Cook county; Hon. ROBERT J. DUNNE, presiding.

Reversed and remanded with directions. Heard in second division, first district, this court at April term, 1941.
