Opinion

Gen. No. 9,549. (Abstract of Decision.)

Opinion filed June 28, 1940 Rehearing denied September 21, 1940

HUSBAND AND WIFE, § 115wife's liability for family expenses, attorney's fees for securing executive pardon for husband. Lower court properly rendered judgment for attorney for fees earned by obtaining an executive pardon for defendant, who had been sentenced by a federal court, over defendant's contention that such services were voluntary and that they arose through mutual political affiliation, but lower court improperly rendered judgment against defendant's wife for such fees under the family expense statute (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1939, ch. 68, § 15; Jones Ill. Stats. Ann. 64.15).
