ON PETITION FOR WRIT OF MANDAMUS
Before Benavides, Longoria, and Silva Justices.
ORDER
PER CURIAM
By petition for writ of mandamus, relators J.G. and B.G. seek to compel the trial court to grant a mandatory transfer of venue under the family code. See Tex. Fam. Code Ann. § 155.201. Relators have also filed a motion for temporary relief pending the resolution of their petition for writ of mandamus. "
Relators captioned their petition for writ of mandamus as "In the Interest of B.G.L."; however, we have modified the style for this original proceeding in accordance with the rules of appellate procedure. See Tex. R. App. P. 52.1 (providing that a petition filed in an original appellate proceeding "must be captioned 'In re [name of relator].'"
The Court, having examined and fully considered the motion for temporary relief, is of the opinion that it should be granted. We grant the motion for temporary relief, and we order the trial court proceedings, including the trial of this matter which is currently set to begin on July 10, 2024, to be stayed pending the resolution of this original proceeding or further order of this Court. See Tex. R. App. P. 52.10 ("Unless vacated or modified, an order granting temporary relief is effective until the case is finally decided.").
The Court requests the real parties in interest, M.L.-K.; the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services; J.L.B. and S.L.; and attorney ad litem Kelsey Linscomb, or any others whose interest may be affected by the relief sought, to file a response to the petition for writ of mandamus on or before the expiration of ten days from the date of this order. See id. R. 52.2, 52.4, 52.8.
