ORIGINAL MANDAMUS PROCEEDING

ORDER

In connection with a petition for writ of mandamus or for writ of prohibition, Relator Billie Dean has requested that we stay both a May 28, 2020 hearing to approve a settlement and "the trial setting" in Cause No. B-20-03-0342-CV pending in the 358th District Court in Ector County.

We grant Relator's motion in part and order that all proceedings related to the approval of the settlement are stayed until further order of this court or resolution of this original proceeding except that Judge Stacy Trotter may consider, and rule on, Relator's "Motion to Dismiss for Lack of Authority, Alternatively, Motion to Abate Pending On-Going Appeal over Guardianship Appointment, Motion to Show Authority, and Objection to Minor Settlement."

This court requests that Jennifer Payne file a response to Relator's petition for writ of mandamus or for writ of prohibition by June 12, 2020.
