TENDER AND DEPOSITS IN COURT, § 5check in registered letter. In forcible detainer proceedings predicated upon nonpayment of rent, defense of tender of payment was not sustained where tenant's counsel sent registered letter to landlord containing check for amount due but landlord refused to receive letter and returned it unopened, and there was no evidence that landlord knew of contents of letter.

Appeal from the Municipal Court of Chicago; the Hon. J.M. BRAUDE, Judge, presiding.

Affirmed. Heard in the first division, first district, this court at the February term, 1948.
