Gen. No. 40,293. (Abstract of Decision.)
Opinion filed February 23, 1940
DRAINAGE, § 445 — action for wage cuts, validity of appropriation ordinance. In action by sanitary district employees to recover amounts allegedly deducted from their wages in 1932, where board of trustees passed order directing wage cuts of 10 per cent and appropriation ordinance listed former salaries and listed in another column appropriation equal to 90 per cent, the appropriation was for the latter item, and reduced wage scale agreement effected with a union also was valid to reduce wages, so that lower court properly directed verdict for defendant as to first item, and should have directed verdict for defendant as to last item.
