Appellants seek review of the Examiner’s decision to reject claims 1–
25 under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as obvious over Imer

We AFFIRM-IN-PART.
The claims are directed to an utlraviolet light emitting semiconductor
chip (see, e.g., claim 1) and a method of making it (see, e.g., claim 14). The
chip includes a buffer layer, an n-junction LED layer, a multiple quantum
well LED layer, and a p-junction LED layer.
