Tex. Occ. Code § 1802.104

Section 1802.104 - Presiding Officer

The presiding officer of the commission, with the commission's approval, shall appoint a member of the advisory board to serve as presiding officer of the board. The presiding officer serves for two years and may not serve more than two consecutive terms.
