Section 192.023 - Delay of More Than One But Less Than Four Years(a) A birth that occurred at least one year but less than four years before the date of the application for registration shall be recorded on a birth certificate in the form prescribed by the state registrar and submitted to the state registrar for filing.(b) The state registrar may require evidence to substantiate the facts of the birth and may require a statement explaining the delay in filing the birth certificate. The state registrar may accept the certificate for filing if the evidence required by the state registrar is submitted.(c) A birth certificate filed under this section shall be marked "Delayed" and must show on its face the date of registration.Tex.
