Section 309 - Replacement Checks
(a) Upon presentation for payment of any check to the Treasury Department which is more than one hundred and eighty days and not more than one year old, the Treasury Department shall requisition and issue a replacement check to the person entitled thereto from each of the various funds. All reportable Commonwealth checks which have not been presented for payment in excess of one year from the date issuance shall be delivered to the custodial control of the State Treasurer as abandoned or unclaimed property and shall be disposed of under Article XIII.1.
(b) The Treasury Department as of January 1, 1972, and on each July 1 thereafter, shall take credit on its books and calculate as cash to the credit of the proper funds all amounts held in State depositories or otherwise for the payment of nonreportable checks which on said dates had been issued for a period of one year or more and which had not been presented for payment.
