Section 6-122.4 - License for Teach for America Program participant - Exemption from residency programA. The State Board of Education shall issue a two-year, nonrenewable license to teach to any person who has been accepted into the Teach for America Program and has on file with the Board a current Oklahoma criminal history record from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation as well as a national criminal history record check as defined in Section 150.9 of Title 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes. Upon receipt of the Oklahoma criminal history record, the Board may issue a temporary license which shall be effective until receipt of the national fingerprint-based criminal history record. The person applying for a license shall be responsible for the cost of the criminal history records. B. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the State Board of Education shall issue a certificate to teach to any individual who has:1. Been issued a license pursuant to subsection A of this section;2. Completed the coursework requirements established for participants of the Teach for America Program;3. Successfully passed the assessment requirements established by Teach for America for participants of the Teach for America Program; and4. Submitted an application and payment of the certification fee as prescribed by the Board.Okla. Stat. tit. 70, § 6-122.4
