Text and derivation of prior provisions, see Appendix at end of this title.
Comment:
Oklahoma previously had the Uniform Warehouse Receipts Act former 2 O.S. §§ 9- 61 through 9-117, but it did not have the Uniform Bill of Lading Act. The previous Oklahoma statutes, former 13 O.S. §§ 91-97, on bills of lading and the other former sections of Title 13 listed above were very incomplete and were by no means as comprehensive as the Uniform Bills of Lading Act or the Commercial Code. The Commercial Code replaces the cited prior statutory provisions.
The Uniform Warehouse Receipts Act and the Uniform Bills of Lading Act are similar, and in many places identical, particularly in the sections dealing with negotiation and the rights of a bona fide purchaser. The Commercial Code, therefore, has combined the two as much as possible. Some of the provisions deal only with warehouse receipts, some only with bills of lading, and others govern both.
