Section 5123.02 - [Effective 1/1/2025] Duties of departmentThe department of developmental disabilities shall do the following:
(A) Promote comprehensive statewide programs and services for persons with developmental disabilities and their families wherever they reside in the state. These programs shall include public awareness, prevention, assessment, treatment, training, and care.(B) Provide administrative leadership for statewide services;(C) Develop and maintain, to the extent feasible, data on all services and programs that governmental and private agencies provide for persons with developmental disabilities;(D) Provide leadership to local authorities in planning and developing community-wide services for persons with developmental disabilities and their families;(E) Promote programs of professional training and research in cooperation with other state departments, agencies, and institutions of higher learning .
