Section 2-16-211 - Oaths - form - before whom - when(1) Members of the legislature and all officers, executive, ministerial, or judicial, must, before they enter upon the duties of their respective offices, take and subscribe the following oath or affirmation: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the state of Montana, and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity (so help me God)."(2) No other oath, declaration, or test must be required as a qualification for any office or public trust.(3) Except when otherwise provided, the oath may be taken before any officer authorized to administer oaths.(1), (2)En.
