Section 722.115j - Criminal history background check performed by department(1) When a person applies for or to renew a license to operate a foster family home or foster family group home under this act, the department shall perform a criminal history background check on an adult member of the household using the department of state police's internet criminal history access tool (ICHAT). This section does not apply to a person residing in the home for a period of not more than 14 days.(2) If a search of the department of state police's ICHAT reveals that an adult member of the household has been convicted of a listed offense, the department shall not issue a license to the applicant, shall not renew a license to the licensee applying for renewal, or shall revoke a current licensee's license.Amended by 2017, Act 256,s 7, eff. 3/28/2018.Added by 2007, Act 218,s 4, eff. 1/1/2008.
