Section 450.2251 - Corporate purposes; conduct of lawful activities during war or national emergency(1) A corporation may be formed under this act for any lawful purposes not involving pecuniary gain or profit for its officers, directors, shareholders, or members, other than a purpose for which a corporation may be formed under any other statute of this state and that statute expressly prohibits formation under this act. A corporation that is formed under this act for a purpose for which a corporation may be formed under another statute of this state does not have any powers or privileges conferred by that other statute that are not conferred under this act.(2) In time of war or other national emergency, a corporation may take any lawful action to provide aid, including any business activity, notwithstanding the purposes set forth in its articles of incorporation, at the request or direction of a competent governmental authority.Amended by 2014, Act 557,s 28, eff. 1/15/2015.1982, Act 162, eff. 1/1/1983.
