Section 56:5 - General powers and authorityA. The commission, through its director: (1) May sue and be sued; and(2) Shall have and exercise all authority and power as was prescribed by law for the prior commissioner of conservation and the commissioner of wildlife and fisheries in relation to the wildlife of the state, including wild game and nongame quadrupeds or animals, game, oysters, fish, and other aquatic life.B. Any function or authority vested to the prior commissioner of conservation and the commissioner of wildlife and fisheries concerning any of the resources under the jurisdiction of the director of the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, and all records, equipment, funds, and other assets in relation to such resources, are transferred to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.C.
