Section 11:1380 - Supplemental retirement payA. Any judge in the State of Louisiana who shall have retired from the office of judge under the provisions of Article VII, Section 8(c) of the Constitution of Louisiana and who thereafter, before attaining the age of seventy years, shall have been assigned by order of the supreme court under the provisions of Article VII, Section 8(h) of the Constitution of Louisiana to serve as a judge of another court or courts and who shall have served as judge by assignment continuously for not less than five years and in the aggregate not less than thirty years, shall upon termination of assignment be paid in addition to the retirement pay provided by Article VII, Section 8(c) of the Constitution of Louisiana supplemental retirement pay in the amount of two-thirds of the supplemental pay provided in Article VII, Section 8(h) to equate his salary at the time of the termination of his assignment.B. The supplemental pay provided in Subsection A of this Section shall be paid from the same sources and in the manner provided by law for payment of retirement income to judges as provided in Article VII, Section 8 of the Constitution of Louisiana; provided, however, that in any judicial district which contributes to the payment of the salaries of its judges, the parish or parishes in such district shall not be required under the provisions of Subsection A hereof to make supplemental retirement payment to any retired judge who shall not have served by assignment in said district for five years immediately preceding the termination of his assignment to that district.La.
