§ 83. Public works for which surveys and plans authorized

The survey of and preparation of plans and specifications for the following public works is hereby authorized: rural and urban schools; school lunchrooms; vocational schools; libraries; University of Puerto Rico school for nurses; rural medical centers; municipal hospitals and medical centers; district hospitals; a medical center and school of medicine; tuberculosis hospitals; psychiatry hospitals; a central laboratory; specialized hospitals or parts thereof for leprosy, cancer, industrial medicine, legal medicine, and central blood bank; charity institutions for boys and girls; the aged, and the blind; agricultural experiment stations, substations and farms for seed production; buildings for the Agricultural Extension Service; buildings for the Tobacco Institute; mailing centers; penitentiaries; district jails; municipal jails and other penal establishments; central laundries for the government, and buildings for prison industries; police headquarters; police academy; fire stations; armories; municipal government centers; parks and playgrounds; public squares; community centers; cemeteries; fences; slaughterhouses; market places; warehouses; irrigation systems, breakwaters; retaining walls; docks; and such other public works as the Secretary of Transportation and Public Works may from time to time determine.
