§ 3575. Research

The Government of Puerto Rico shall promote autism spectrum disorder research. This initiatives shall include research development to support the identification of persons with Autism and the proper diagnosis to enable evidence- based interventions. Action shall be taken, according to research findings, regarding the environmental factors that may have an impact on the prevalence of Autism.

To the extent that the available resources of the Government of Puerto Rico allow, funds shall be appropriated to promote research on the impact of the implementation of this Act to be conducted by the University of Puerto Rico and private universities. Said research, conducted in accordance with this chapter, shall consider the rights of participants and incorporate the regulations adopted by Research Review Committees.
