(1) Clinical analysis laboratory. — A clinical analysis laboratory shall be any institution engaged in the performance of bacteriological, microscopic, hematologic, biochemical, serological, and histopathological tests, to aid in the diagnosis, control, prevention or treatment of human diseases.
(2) Blood bank. — A blood bank shall be any center for the collection, processing and preservation of human blood for its availability whenever necessary.
(3) Plasmapheresis center. — A plasmapheresis center shall be the establishment engaged in the process of extracting blood from a human being followed by separation of cellular elements of the plasma, and transfusion of the cellular elements to the donor. The byproducts of plasma can be used in other persons and can be given any other medical use.
(4) Seropheresis center. — A seropheresis center shall be the establishment engaged in the process of injection of blood and/or antigens with the idea of promoting and increasing the antibodies in the blood, and the extraction of blood for the separation of serum for the preparation of antibodies.
