The Department of Health is hereby empowered to assume administrative responsibility in the operation of the Municipal Hospital of Vieques through agreement with the Municipal Government of Vieques that it is to be maintained at standards and on principles like or similar to those prevailing with relation to the hospital units of the Health Centers as such are defined by Act No. 213 of May 15, 1948, but taking into account the special geographic circumstances of Vieques and the administrative difficulties they give rise to. The Municipal Administration of Vieques is hereby authorized to enter into such agreement with the Department of Health.
