§ 2309a. Qualifications for certification

The Board shall issue a federal, general or residential certification to practice as a certified appraiser to any person who:

(a) Has complied with the qualifications for the corresponding certifications of Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989 and the federal rules adopted thereunder, as implemented by the Board of Examiners of Professional Real Estate Appraisers. These requirements shall be incorporated through regulations approved by the Board.

(b) Holds a professional real estate appraiser license issued by the Board pursuant to § 2308 of this title.

The holder of a certification shall be authorized to carry out those appraisals according to the criteria in effect of the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) for general and residential certification, respectively.
