§ 602a. Corporate powers of the University

The University of Puerto Rico shall have all the authorities, prerogatives, responsibilities, and duties germane to a corporate entity in charge of higher education, which shall be exercised by the Governing Board. It shall have authority to sue and be sued, acquire and possess assets and real property, mortgage, sell, or otherwise alienate the same; contract debts; enter into contracts; invest its funds in a manner compatible with the goals and purposes of this Act; adopt and use an official seal; accept and administer donations, estates, and bequests. It shall have custody of, as well as govern and administer all of its assets of any class, and of all its funds, established in § 602(h)(2) of this title.
