§ 1252i. Sales and leasing intermediaries

It shall be unlawful for any person who is not a licensed real estate broker or salesperson under §§ 3025 et seq. of Title 20, known as the “Act to Regulate the Real Estate Business and the Profession of Real Estate Broker, Salesperson or Companies in Puerto Rico”, or any successor statute thereto, to sell or lease, or offer to sell or lease, an accommodation, timeshare or vacation club right in Puerto Rico, unless such person is the developer, an entity related with the developer, or an employee or an independent contractor of any of the aforegoing in the project to which such accommodation, timeshare or vacation club right pertains. The developer’s exemption under this section shall extend to the initial and any subsequent sale of the accommodation, timeshare or vacation club right, as well as to any lease of a sold or unsold accommodation, timeshare or vacation club right in Puerto Rico.
