§ 41. Scope

Any nonprofit association organized hereafter in this Commonwealth for the purpose of establishing, maintaining, and operating any plan for the rendering of hospital and/or medical-surgical services without profit and by virtue of which hospital services are furnished by any hospital or group of hospitals with which said association may have a contract for said purpose and medical-surgical services by a group of doctors with whom the association have a contract for that purpose and in order to furnish such hospital and/or medical-surgical services to such persons as may enter into a contract therewith, authorizing and guaranteeing certain hospital and/or medical-surgical services, shall be governed by this chapter and shall be exempt from the provisions of the Insurance Code of Puerto Rico, Title 26, except as herein specifically provided.
