§ 141. Violations, penalties

(a) Any person who wilfully, illegally, and maliciously violates the provisions of § 140 of this title, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be punished by a minimum fine of fifty dollars ($50), or minimum imprisonment for a term of thirty (30) days, or by both penalties [at] the discretion of the court.

(b) Whenever the denounced violation consists of having carried out any construction, repair, or improvement of any house located in a slum district, the sentence entered shall provide, in addition to the penalty set forth under subsection (a) of this section, that the construction, improvement, or extension, the object of the complaint, be demolished by the marshal of the court with personnel under the direction of the Puerto Rico Housing Authority as soon as the sentence entered in the case is final.
