§ 3205. Vehicle registry—Total loss or abandonment, effects

Once a motor vehicle is declared a total loss or abandoned as useless, as defined by the Secretary through regulations, its parts shall only be used as substitute parts for the functioning of another motor vehicle duly registered at the Department of Transportation and Public Works. No motor vehicle license shall be issued under the provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of Puerto Rico, Act No. 141 of July 20, 1960 to a unit assembled or manufactured with parts from motor vehicles declared as a total loss, or abandoned as useless.
