§ 857. Penalty

Any manufacturer, supplier, distributor, authorized dealer, or authorized lessor who violates the provisions of this chapter, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be punished with a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500), a term of imprisonment of thirty (30) days for the first violation, or both penalties at the discretion of the court. In cases of recidivism, the court may impose a fine of two hundred dollars ($200), a term of imprisonment of sixty (60) days, or both penalties at the discretion of the court. Any manufacturer, supplier, distributor, dealer, or lessor who sells assistive technology equipment to agencies or entities of the Government of Puerto Rico, shall no longer be able to sell said equipment to said entities if found guilty of violating the provisions of this chapter.
