The program shall be directed by a person appointed by the President of the University and ratified by the Board of Trustees of the University of Puerto Rico, which shall furthermore fix his or her salary or remuneration according to the usual standards of the Government of Puerto Rico for positions of equal or similar nature. The appointee shall be a person of recognized capabilities, moral probity and knowledge in matters related to the disabled and assistive technology.
